Hello, I’m Harry Cheadle, a freelance writer and editor living in Seattle, Washington. For 10 years I worked at VICE Media, first on the print magazine and then on VICE.com, editing and writing essays, reviews, and reported features about everything from politics to climate change to gun control to internet culture. More recently, I was editor of Eater Seattle for three years, where I covered local restaurant and food news.
I was part of the VICE Magazine team nominated for a 2012 National Magazine Award for General Excellence. I edited “My Grandma the Poisoner,” a story which appears in Best American Essays 2015. In 2014 I served as the interim Editor in Chief of VICE Sports and in 2016 led VICE.com’s politics coverage during the U.S. election. My work for Eater touched ranged from a profile of locally controversial chef Josh Henderson to coverage of changes to minimum wage laws.I’m currently freelancing and mulling next moves. Want to get in touch? Email me.
See my work
